Himalayan Ascent

We are adventurers. We are defiantly curious. We keep looking, until the world looks back. While others dream, we do. While others look, we leap. We do not fear. Because we have one spin on Earth. And we refuse to spin in place.

Blessed in Pangboche 6PM

It was an exciting day for everyone be it the folks with Everest, Island Peak or Everest base camp ambitions. This morning everyone and our guides were blessed by the Khumbu respected and revered Pangboche lama of the Pangboche monastery (oldest in the region).

Snowing in Lobuche 7PM

The Grade 6 team arrived into Lobuche just in time to miss an afternoon of snowfall. Fortunately the weather broke for a lovely sunset by evening. The team will head straight to Everest base camp tomorrow for one of Rabin's special lunches.

At Everest Base Camp 11AM

The team arrived at Everest base camp yesterday and everyone is super excited. This afternoon they will take a tour of the season's circus and will take a peek at the ice fall.

I am back in Kathmandu and am relieved to leave behind another tumultuous Everest season.

Makalu team waiting for window 11AM

Chris and Vance have completed their camp 3 rotation on Makalu with Lakpa, Ngima and Galden. At the moment the winds aren’t looking great at the summit so they’re patiently sitting tight at base camp for the window to open.

Once the winds ease, the team will make their summit push. Meanwhile most of our teams in the Khumbu have returned or are on their way back.

Makalu team back at base camp 9AM

Despite mild wind weather predictions, strong winds prevented the Makalu team from reaching Camp 3 on the 15th. Camp 3 sits on the Makalu la, a pass or saddle that is exposed to winds.
